Itinerary

One of London's most famous structures, Westminster Abbey will transport you to the center of British history. This Gothic monastery, which was once known as the Collegiate Church of Saint Peter at Westminster, is prominently located on Parliament Square, next to Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. Beyond its stunning architecture, Westminster Abbey is a customary location for coronations and the last resting place of eight previous prime ministers and seventeen kings.

Made in 1296 for King Edward I, the Coronation Chair is historically significant since it has been used to crown every monarch since 1308, including Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II. It is the oldest piece of furniture in the United Kingdom still in use for its intended purposes.

Discover the literary sanctuary of Poets' Corner inside the Abbey, where luminaries like Thomas Hardy, Rudyard Kipling, Geoffrey Chaucer, and Charles Dickens repose. Bards and Burns are among the great writers honored with busts and memorial stones.

Since its founding in 1066, Westminster Abbey has presided over the coronation of 17 kings. It also has contemporary royal ties; in 2011, William and Kate were married there.

Included in the entry ticket, the multimedia guide enhances your experience, providing insightful commentary as you navigate the Abbey's historic corridors. Experience Westminster Abbey's rich legacy of British culture by making a reservation today for a once-in-a-lifetime trip through history and customs.
