Due the nature of this type of tour and varying demand, group travellers should be aware that there is no guarantee that the group will be able to travel altogether as the available seats vary from stop to stop and depends on demand each day. The group may need to split up and/or wait for the next bus(s).

Journey to Nakhl, a quintessential Omani village nestled at the base of majestic mountains, benefiting from an abundant water source. Begin with a pick-up from your hotel in Muscat and head towards Nakhl Fort, an ancient marvel with roots dating back to pre-Islamic times. Itinerary

Start your journey near a place called Shatti Al-Qurum. As we head towards Nakhl, you will get to see something really cool – an ancient fortress sitting on top of a little hill. Even though we cannot go inside the fort right now (it is getting a makeover), we can still walk around it and enjoy the relaxing waters of Al Thowarah Hot Springs.

Nakhl is just a short two-hour drive from Muscat. Thanks to the Barka-Nakhl Dual Road project, finished in 2018, the journey is now not only easy but also full of beautiful views. Nakhl is like its own special paradise with lots of date plantations and big mountains to the north.

One of the main things people love to do in Nakhl is visit the Nakhl Fort. It is like the superstar of the village, attracting people from all over Oman. The fort is not just a building; it is like a time capsule filled with memories from the past. But Nakhl has more to offer than just the fort. Looking at it is amazing and makes you wonder how clever the villagers were in ancient times. They built the fort on top of a big rock or maybe a hill – it is like a puzzle that makes everyone curious.

Especially on weekends, especially during the winter, lots of tourists and locals come here. They enjoy the cooler weather and also love that it is easy to get close to nature and try out different activities.
